MINERAL STAIN REMOVAL GUIDE
Why Rust And Mineral Stains Need A Different Approach
Rust, scale, overspray and ordinary dirt can look similar. Identifying the stain first helps protect the surface.
Not Every Orange Or White Mark Is Dirt
Rust, irrigation minerals, hard water scale, paint overspray and chemical runoff can leave stubborn discoloration. Ordinary washing may not remove these deposits because the stain can react with or bond to the surface.
The color, pattern, source and age of the stain all provide useful clues.
Identify The Surface Before Treatment
Brick, stone, concrete, metal and painted finishes can react differently to stain removal products. A treatment that works on concrete may be too aggressive for a coated or delicate surface. Testing in a small area can help evaluate the response.
Existing damage, sealers and previous repair work should be disclosed before treatment.
Find The Source When Possible
Irrigation spray, metal fixtures, runoff and construction work can cause recurring stains. Removing the visible mark without addressing the source may allow it to return. Look at the path of the stain and what is located above or beside it.
A cleaning contractor can address the surface while the property owner considers any plumbing, irrigation or maintenance source.
Set Realistic Expectations
Some stains improve substantially while deeply embedded discoloration may not disappear completely. The material condition and stain history affect the result. Ask what improvement is realistic before authorizing the work.
No Pressure SoftWash can review rust, mineral scale, paint spill and overspray concerns before recommending a treatment.
